Professor Romanos is a Professor (with tenure) of Periodontology at Stony Brook, New York and Professor of Oral Surgery in Frankfurt, Germany; Fully trained in Periodontics (USA and Germany), Prosthodontics, and Oral Surgery (Germany); Diplomate by the American Board of Periodontology; Board Certified in Oral Surgery/Implant Dentistry (Germany); former Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Director of Laser Education at SBU; obtained various administrative and senior teaching positions in NY and abroad; Past President of the Academy of Osseointegration Foundation and the Implantology Research Group of the IADR; Fellow of American Assoc. for Dental Research, the Academy of Osseointegration, Int. College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy; Great of NY Academy of Prosthodontics, Intern. Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics and the American College of Dentists. Professor Romanos belongs to the Top 2% scientists worldwide, has global educational and research activities is author of more than 600 publications, editor and co-editor in eight books has given >800 lectures in more than 50 countries; Recipient of the Distinguished Scientist Award from the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), the Distinguished Scientist Award for Prosthodontics and Implant Research from the IADR, the Outstanding Educator and Maiman Research Award from the Academy of Laser Dentistry and recently the AO/ADEA faculty Award; h-Index: 88; >26,000 citations.
