Reinhard Gruber is Professor of Oral Biology at the University Clinic of Dentistry, Medical University of Vienna, Austria. A leader in regenerative dentistry, he received his doctorate from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna and joined the Medical University of Vienna in 1999 following a postdoctoral appointment in Rheumatology. His academic career includes visiting scholar positions at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Michigan, as well as leadership of the Laboratory of Oral Cell Biology at the University of Bern. His research integrates fundamental cell biology, preclinical models, and clinical studies to advance causal therapeutic strategies in regenerative dentistry. He is a former board member of the Osteology Foundation and served on the ITI Research Committee. He is associate editor of Clinical Oral Implants Research and the Journal of Periodontal Research, and was formerly associate editor of The International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants.
