Donald P. Lewis, Jr, DDS, is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (AAOMS) and is currently in private practice in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Valparaiso University, his doctor of dental surgery (DDS) from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry, and his post-graduate residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He is also a professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine.
Dr Lewis is the chairman and originator of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Committee on Software Development and Computer Technology, which has developed practice management software specifically for oral surgeons, OMSVision®. OMSVision® has retained a partnership with the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) since 2002. Due to his many years of voluntary commitment to serving the businesses of oral and maxillofacial surgeons, as well as lecturing on the subject of medical emergencies and white-collar crime, Dr Lewis received the first-ever Special Citation Award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS).
